Galileo – 360 Degrees of Pan and Tilt

I love my new iPhone, I have to say it has brought to a whole new level the amount of time I can waste doing nothing constructive at all. Yes, it can help you be more productive as well, I just haven’t figured out how to use it that way yet. Perhaps I should take a class. I enjoy searching the net looking for new gadgets to use with the iPhone and this one looks interesting.

Motrr, the same folks behind the whole Gorillapad line of camera tripods, is introducing the Galileo, a revolutionary iOS-controlled robotic iPhone platform with “infinite spherical rotation capability”. It works something like this: You swipe your finger across the screen of your iPad, iPhone or other iOS device and the Galileo reacts, moving and orienting your iPhone or iPod Touch in the direction of your choosing.

The developers believe that the applications for their device are pretty far reaching. If you think about it, Galileo could be used anywhere that ease of orientation would be handy, like photography, chats, conferencing or even simple movie viewing. Eventually, Galileo will be made available to developers who can pair it with their own applications, like surveillance or even baby monitors. Capable of infinite 360 degrees pan-and-tilt at speeds up to 200 degrees per second in any direction, paired with the right app, Galileo could be one nifty device.

The Galileo is rechargeable and it also works as a charging station for your iPhone or iPod Touch (when it’s plugged in). Galileo will be about $129.95 or, if you preorder now, around $85 (shipping soon) It is available in white, black, and in a limited edition Kickstarter Green. For more information and Galileo including videos and purchase info, please visit kickstarter.com

    Press Release

  • Sonicwalk lets you enjoy your music differently

If you are a person who loves your music, then you might be interested in the £89.99 Sonicwalk. Just what the heck is it? Well, good thing we are here to explain it to the lay person – Sonicwalk is a rugged mobile music maker that target sports enthusiasts. It does not matter if you are involved in a robust aerobics session, or prefer to just run as though you had ghosts on your tail, or cycling furiously. The Sonicwalk is as light as a feather, virtually allowing you to wear it anywhere, and as to the question of how it works, it will feature a couple of speakers that have been built right into its straps, making it a snap to share your tunes wherever you are. All you need to do is plug in a compatible device – like say, a smartphone or a portable media player, and tuck it right into the soft neoprene pocket in the strap.

You will slip your arms through the loops like a backpack for easy transportation, where the volume level can be adjusted via the straps in a jiffy. There is also a useful safety light thrown into the mix for those who prefer to sweat it out during prime moments for vampires to launch an attack.

  • Angry Birds Shuns Windows Phone Users

The latest in the Angry Birds franchise by Ravio has been released and has made a surprising step- not to release the game in the Windows Phone platform. The official word is that not all platforms can be supported- but we all know why. Ravio has been keeping the Angry Birds concept appealing for a long time now.

    The Release

Angry Birds in Space game is priced at £1.99 in iOS, £2.99 in Mac, £4.97 for PCs and free in Android gadgets- the Android version of the game is full of ads. The game uses an advanced physics engine to provide different bodies to exert gravitational force in different directions. Ravio has brought on the Angry Birds franchise for the 52nd time on mobile platforms and continues to promote the concept with at least four versions planned this year.

    No Windows Phone

According to the news, not releasing the Angry Birds in Space in the Windows Phone platform is one thing, but it does not explain why Angry Bird Seasons and those extra levels are missing the platform. Undoubtedly, Ravio is not getting many sales in the Windows Phone platform. Consequently, Angry Birds in Space will not be ported to Microsoft’s OS.
